Crystallization facility granted upgrade

Ass. Prof. Derek Logan recently received a grant of 3.4 MSEK from the infrastructure committee of the Swedish Research Council towards an upgrade of the facility for nanovolume crystallisation of proteins and other biological macromolecules at MAX-lab in Lund. The grant will be used to buy automated equipment for imaging of crystallisation experiments using visible and UV light, as well as for biophysical analysis of samples prior to crystallisation. This will significantly increase the capacity of the facility. The long-term ambition is to turn the crystallisation laboratory into a national facility, as well as to integrate it into a pipeline for protein production, crystallisation and structural analysis at Lund University / MAX IV.
