Welcome to EMV Iben Lundgaard!
Iben Lundgaard joins the Department of Experimental Medical Sciences as Associate Senior Lecturer and Wallenberg Fellow. Dr. Lundgaard got her Ph. D. in Neurosciences from University of Cambridge, UK. She worked as postdoctoral fellow and later on as assistant professor at Center for Translational Neuromedicine, University of Rochester, NY, before joining Lund University.
Welcome to EMV Darcy Wagner!
Darcy Wagner has recently joined Lund University as an Wallenberg Molecular Medicine Fellow: Regeneration and Repair in the Respiratory System and Associate Senior Lecturer in the Department of Experimental Medical Sciences. She was most recently at the Comprehensive Pneumology Center in Munich, Germany where she was serving as a German Lung Center principal investigator. She received her PhD in biomedical engineering from the University of Toledo in Dr. Sarit Bhaduri’s lab as a National Science Foundation fellow and completed her first postdoctoral studies in Dr. Daniel Weiss’ lab at the University of Vermont as a NIH T32 Fellow. She then completed her second postdoctoral training period as a Whitaker Foundation International Scholar and a Helmholtz Zentrum München Postdoctoral Fellowship Program in Dr. Melanie Königshoff’s lab in the Lung Repair and Regeneration Unit at the Helmholtz Center of Environmental Health in Munich, Germany.

KURSER I SVENSKA FÖR UNIVERSITETSANSTÄLLDA
Lunds universitet - genom Språk- och litteraturcentrum (SOL) - erbjuder kurser i svenska för universitetsanställda (så kallade SFU-kurser). Kurserna kan hållas på fem olika nivåer, beroende av förkunskaper. Kostnaden för deltagande är 4 100 SEK (nivåerna 1-4) samt 4 300 SEK för nivå 5. Kursavgiften betalas av din institution.

SWEDISH FOR UNIVERSITY STAFF – SFU
Lund University offers Swedish language courses for university staff (SFU) in cooperation with Scandinavian Languages at the Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL). Depending on your previous knowledge of Swedish you can take courses at five different levels. Course costs (to be paid by your department): SEK 4 100 each for levels 1–4 and SEK 4 300 for level 5.

Attend the Life Science infrastructure fair and seminar - For all researchers who want to know more about the excellent life science infrastructure that Lund University has to offer. Learn about how different infrastructures can be important tools in your research.
Lund: 19th of September 14-17*, Belfragesalen, BMC D15
Malmö: 3rd of October 14-17, CRC, aulan
More than 20 infrastructures will present how they can support life science research. The presentations will be based on four different cases: diabetes, immunology, cancer and neuro science.

Call for travel grants
The Faculty of Medicine Postgraduate Committee hereby invites applications for travel grants for travels until 15th of May 2018 in connection with postgraduate studies at another institution within or outside the country. Eligible applicants are PhD-students admitted to postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine in Lund/Malmo. The application to the Faculty of Medicine must be received at the latest 22nd of September 2017.
