The research within the field of hand surgery has a strong focus on nerve injuries, and how to achieve best possible function after surgery. The increased risk of nerve compression is of particular interest.
The researchers are exploring both nerve injuries and their connection to the brain’s interpreting and controlling functions. The timeframe for signaling in cells after nerve injury is a central line of this research.
Also of particular interest is the increased risk of nerve compression and the occurrence of neurological diseases in the case of diabetes.
