The Department of Translational Medicine is one of six departments at the Faculty of Medicine, Lund University.
The organisation covers experimental, epidemiological and point-of-care research. The department collaborates closely with public healthcare.
Great importance is attached to the potential of research findings to be transferred to patient care and that there be an exchange between research and healthcare which facilitates the development of diagnostics, treatment and new drugs.
The department is located at Skåne University Hospital in central Malmö and has a close collaboration with the hospital and Region Skåne’s laboratory activities. Parts of the organisation are located at the Clinical Research Centre (CRC), a modern award-winning meeting place for medical training, research and healthcare.
The Medeon research park and incubator for life science companies is also adjacent to the department, as well as Malmö University’s Faculty of Health and Society.
