Objective
The aim of the course is to enable the students to expand their knowledge and skills in the publication process and in writing and reviewing a draft research paper.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the research students shall be able to independently
• explain and discuss different types of research articles
• explain in detail and discuss the form and content of the presentation of research findings
• compile research results with a scientific structure and adapted to a relevant target group
• judge, review and provide structured feedback on the research papers of others
• assess and discuss different approaches to the publication process, such as co-authorship, falsification or omission, anonymity and confidentiality
Design
The teaching is primarily based on interactive learning sessions. The course includes lectures, reviews of research articles, group work, discussions, application exercises and independent study. It takes up five days introduced by three days of teaching followed by one day of independent study and, a week later, a final day of teaching.
Assessment
For a pass on the course, students must have attended and participated actively in all course components, and completed all course assignments. The assessment is based on individual written assignments.
