FAQ for PhD students and supervisors about the corona virus outbreak

Below is information for PhD students and supervisors related to the Faculty of Medicine´s management of the coronavirus outbreak. The information is updated based on new decisions. 


Dissertations

As of 17 August 2021, doctoral students, main supervisors and assistant supervisors as well as local members of the examining committee and chairs are to attend the University’s premises during public defences of doctoral theses. The external reviewer and external members of the examining committee may attend the venue or participate via web link, according to their preferences and taking into account practical considerations. Other participants may attend the venue or participate via web link, based on current regulations and recommendations from the relevant public authorities and in relation to the current rate of infection.

Courses

As of 17 August 2021, teaching and examinations for PhD students will be gradually adapted for a return to the University’s premises.

PhD courses within the Research School in Medical Sciences will be given priority to be conducted on the University’s premises. Other courses shall be conducted digitally, or on the University’s premises based on the availability of teaching premises and how they can be utilised in light of current regulations and recommendations from the relevant public authorities and current rate of infection.

Travel Grants

If you have been granted a travel grant, but cannot travel due to the current situation, you can apply for the next call. If all criteria are met, you will be granted funding for another travel grant. If you have had travel costs related to an already granted travel grant that will not be reimbursed, please contact Research studies coordinator Anette Saltin, anette.saltin@med.lu.se

Halfway Review

As of 17 August 2021, doctoral students, main supervisors and halfway reviewers are to attend the University’s premises during halfway reviews.

Other participants may attend the venue or participate via web link, based on current regulations and recommendations from the relevant public authorities and in relation to the current rate of infection.
