An up to two-year post-doctoral position is available for a highly motivated recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. graduate to join a translational research project between the Unit of Airway inflammation, Department of Experimental Medical Science, Lund University, Dept of Respiratory Medicine, Lund University Hospital as well as leading pharmaceutical industry partners in the USA and UK.

For the current round of applications, SEK 9 million has been set aside by the Faculty of Medicine, SEK 10 million by the Faculty of Engineering and SEK 20 million by the Faculty of Science, for infrastructure investments. The Faculty of Medicine hereby calls for applications for infrastructure funding as follows:
Purpose and criteria
The funding is primarily destined to support investment in research infrastructure that:
- has the potential to lead to high quality science
- is made up of new infrastructure or increases accessibility of existing infrastructure for researchers at LU
- is relevant to many users and has a transparent accessibility policy for the faculty’s researchers
- is strategically important to the Faculty of Medicine
Applications must have been received by Monday 15 April 2019 at the latest.
For the first time, there is now an opportunity to apply for research funds made available by the Foundation to prevent antibiotic resistance. The Foundation gives direct financial support for research, educational initiatives and information activities aimed at combating antibiotic resistance. The purpose of the projects should be to reduce the use of antibiotics through preventive measures that strengthen the immune system and thereby reduce the number of infections. The foundation plans to allocate SEK four million.

Notification of granted applications
The Foundation's decision on approved grants will be announced in the end of November, 2018.
Persons receiving funding commit to communicate their project on a publicly accessible-scientific level through a media directed at the public, for example, press release, lectures or in other ways reaching out with new knowledge to the public.
Support is not provided for the development of new antibiotics, travel to conferences, information or training of health professionals to reduce prescription of antibiotics.
Decisions of funding are taken by the Scientific Board.
