Research grants and prizes from Sparbanksstiftelsen Färs & Frosta

Sparbanksstiftelsen Färs & Frosta, one of Sparbanken Skåne’s foundations, donated, in 2016, 16 million SEK to fund research on stroke at Lund University over a period of six years. In connection with this investment, the Faculty of Medicine announces the availability of research grants and prizes.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR SPARBANKSSTIFELSENS FÄRS & FROSTA RESEARCH GRANT IN STROKE RESEARCH

In 2019, ca. 2 million SEK in research funds will be assigned to support research on stroke. The grant may finance research on a wide range of topics, from cell biology to rehabilitation, but priority is given to clinic/translational research and patient-oriented research.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR THE PRIZE FOR DISTINGUISHED THESIS FÄRS & FROSTAS FORSKNINGSPRIS

In 2019 a research prize of 100 000 SEK will be assigned to a researcher who has defended their doctoral thesis maximum four years before the announcement of the call. Nominees must have produced an exceptional dissertation of outstanding scholarly quality. The field of study must be stroke research. The prize will be awarded only to researchers nominated by teachers and other researchers of the Faculty of Medicine.

STROKE DAY IN LUND OCTOBER 29 2019

The research prize will be awarded during the annual seminar Färs & Frosta ”Strokedagen i Lund”, which is organized on the occasion of the World Stroke Day. During the seminar, the researchers who receive the funding will present their research. More information will be provided in the spring.
