A future Faculty organized photo contest - “A day in the life of a researcher”
Future Faculty invites its members to participate in a Photo Competition. The photos should fit in the title of "A day in the life of a researcher" and should be related to research performed at the Medical Faculty. The competition entries will be judged by a panel of judges and, separately, by an Artificial Intelligence algorithm. Four photos will receive a prize, 3 chosen by the panel and 1 chosen by the algorithm. The top 10 photos chosen will be printed and displayed at the Medical Faculty in Lund and Malmö.
To participate in the contest, fill out this form and send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. The photos can be attached to the e-mail, or we will send you a link to upload the photograph(s) to a box folder.
Rules for submission:
- The competition is open to Future Faculty members only. More info on membership
- Photos should be related to research performed at Medical Faculty, Lund University.
- Photos should have clear artistic qualities and not merely be documentary.
- Photos should have a title and a brief description that would help the member of the public understand what the photo is trying to capture.

Future Faculty organizes a pre-session on the topic of career paths at the upcoming May 12th LUCC (Lund University Cancer Centre) digital meeting.

What is a Science Cafe?
Its a space for young researchers to talk about science in an informal way.
Several presenters will pitch their science in a 3 minute presentation (1 slide only, no animations!). The presentations will be followed by short discussions in groups.

- get new ideas and collaborations
- get feedback on your work
- network with your peer researchers
Join us as a presenter or as an audience member. The presenters will receive a lunch voucher from Stamstället, Inspira or CRC Mötesplats restaurants.

Emelie and Anton are both Departmental Recruitment Officers for the Faculty of Medicine.
The questions session will be separated into Department break-out rooms, each with its own relevant recruitment officer whom you can meet and find out specific recruitment information based on your Departments processes.

Seminar on the SUA BUL-report
The Swedish young academy (SUA) has completed a report on the impact of the addition of the assistant professorship/associate senior lecturer/ biträdande universitetslektor (BUL) position in Sweden. Grants seminar with the Royal Physiographic Society

A digital after-work was arranged by Future Faculty on April 29th between 16:30 and 17:30.
Members as well as non-members (spread the word) can join a zoom call at any time during the hour. The event can be seen as regular after-work event, so feel free to have a drink or a snack. There will also be a short impromptu online quiz, with a small prize in the form of a Future Faculty keep cup for the winner.

Future Faculty virtual Introduction and Brainstorming session
Whilst the Future Faculty 2020 retreat is postponed, we will hold a virtual "Introduction and brainstorming" session on the 26th of March at 14-15:30pm via Zoom.
What are the main issues for young researchers with a PhD?- What can Future Faculty do for you?
We plan to have these discussions in small "breakout" groups followed by an all-attendee discussion.

Open information session with the Academic Appointments board
Are you thinking of applying for a position as senior lecturer or associate senior lecturer?
Then book the afternoon on February 6 when professor Måns Magnusson, chair of the Academic Appointments Board, and Kajsa Johnsson, head of Human Resources & Recruitment Section, will inform about the recruitment process for teacher positions and the faculty strategy for future positions. There will also be time for questions. Also take the opportunity to grab some coffee with other researchers and Future Faculty! Time and place: Thursday February 6, 2.30 pm Coffee and cake, 3-4.30 pm Information session in the Belfrage hall (BMC D15).

Future Faculty held a breakfast for young researchers before the LU Cancer Center kickoff meeting on the 4th of February. It was great to see so many of you attend! Congratulations to Helga Hagman (IKVL, Oncology) who won our "best suggestion" competition and recieved a prize - a Future Faculty keep cup full of candy.
Future Faculty moderated an information session and a panel discussion about VR grant application. The panel will contain both researchers and experienced reviewers. The event takes place on Jan 16th 14:00 - 16:00 at LUX Aula, Helgonavägen 3, Lund, and is a part of the VR support programme organized by career centre.
