Cancer Research South (CARES) School

lu internationellt 2010

Cancer Research South (CARES) School is a graduate research school for PhD students in cancer research and is a collaboration between Lund University (LU) and University of Gothenburg (UGOT) under the umbrella of BioCARE. CARES is open to all PhD students in BioCARE at both universities and is run as 2 18-months cycles during 3 year-periods (2018-2020). CARES is funded by the Swedish Cancer Society and hosted by BioCARE.

Aims

The primary goal is to provide a comprehensive set of method-based and clinically-relevant one week courses. In addition, the enrolled students will also participate in local seminars, retreats and advanced seminars organised by both universities.

Local seminars

Local seminars are usually run at respective universities at weekly or biweekly basis with local speakers or invited international speakers.

Advanced seminars

Advanced seminars are usually run twice per year as one day event with invited international speakers and local speakers.

Admission

PhD students will be enrolled in a competitive application process. Applications will be reviewed by the steering committee and students will be selected based on their academic record.
