The Department of Health Sciences encompasses education and research within the field of health science in close collaboration with general health care, regional authorities and the surrounding society.

Our department carries out research that covers all age groups – from the tiniest, yet unborn, babies to the oldest among the elderly. Health sciences research is all about improving people’s health and quality of life and takes as its starting point the very activity that is to be investigated. Our main areas of research are:

  • Prevention
  • Therapy
  • Health and social care
  • Rehabilitation

The research is essential not only from the point of view of the individual but also from a social perspective, since good research within this field can be expected to lead to better healthcare.
