- Support to older people and their families along the process of ageing, declining health and long term illness.

- Multidimensional methodology for assessment of aspects relating to the older persons functions and capacities, activity, participation as well as the context they live in.

Generating knowledge on:
- How physical, social and cultural environments support activity, participation and interact with care and rehabilitation in older people, and how to design such supportive environments.
- How to provide rehabilitation and care in relation to complaints, illness, disability and increasing frailty in old age.
- Interventions in older people’s homes and close surroundings, ranging from nursing care, environmental adaptations, and physical exercises to the provision of assistive devices.
- How to plan and design research directly targeting the promotion of health along the ageing process and in old age.
- Facilitators and barriers to life style physical activity among older people with a neurological disability.
