With special emphases on:

• Elucidating the experience and needs among patients and families affected by long-term and/or life threatening diseases as means to improve social support and implement person centered interventions based on the experiences of patients and their families.
• Establishing tools for quality assurance and assessment/evaluation of burden of care, the mental state of patients, patients’ and family members’ experiences of intensive care units, and the experiences of patients with hip fracture.
