Travelling to Sweden

By air - Copenhagen Airport CPH/Kastrup - Malmö – Lund

Copenhagen Airport, CPH, at Kastrup, Denmark, is the closest large international airport. Malmö and Lund in Sweden can be conveniently reached by crossing the bridge over the Öresund. Trains run frequently.

After picking up your luggage at Copenhagen airport, you come out through customs and follow the signs to the train tickets office (just ahead of the door where you came out from). Buy there a ticket to Lund. It costs approx. DKK 100. They accept credit cards. The train station is just downstairs of the tickets office. Trains stop first in Malmö Syd, and then in Malmö Central. Some trains continue directly to Lund. If that is the case, you just stay on board. Otherwise, you will have to change trains in Malmö but your ticket is still valid until Lund. The trip from Copenhagen Airport CPH/Kastrup to Malmö Central Station will take approximately 30 minutes.

By air - local airport Malmö MMX/Sturup - Lund

You can travel by taxi or local (purple) trains (Pågatåg) - approximately 15 min. The local trains depart approximately 4 times per hour during weekdays, somewhat less frequently in the evening and during weekends. Tickets cost SEK 34 and they are available from the ticket machines on the platform for local train departures. This procedure requires local currency of no higher than SEK 100. Malmö-Lund by taxi is normally SEK 250-300, any time of day or night; only small variations from that should be accepted. The Swedish taxi-market is free and though most companies have recommended prices for defined routes (such as Sturup-Lund), drivers have sadly been known to charge foreign visitors unreasonable fees. Taxis in Sweden can be ordered in advance or found at Taxi stops usually situated just outside stations, harbours etc, hailing them in the street sometimes works but it is not the normal routine. Taxis normally accept all major credit cards.
