Postgraduate Education Committee

The task of the Postgraduate Education Committee is to assist the Faculty Board by handling questions concerning postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine, including the following:

  • eligibility of students for admission to graduate studies
  • financial assistance for graduate students
  • graduate courses
  • public thesis defence
  • allocation of travel grants
  • summer stipends

The Postgraduate Education Committee has 7 permanent members, 4 of whom are teachers and 3 graduate students, and also 7 deputy members. In addition, the Directors of Postgraduate Studies are co-opted for the meetings.

The number of active graduate students within the Faculty of Medicine in Lund is about 800. About 100 new graduate students are registered every year and about the same number conclude their studies by obtaining their doctorate.
