Every semester, the Graduate Education Committee earmarks approximately SEK 450,000 for financing travelling costs for graduate students at the Faculty of Medicine. These funds are restricted to pure travel costs only, and are not for accommodation or other expenses. They are announced three times a year, in early January, May and September.
Travel grants are primarily awarded for participation in graduate courses, visits to other laboratories to study new methods or to process results, or for other courses or study activities directly related to the applicant's graduate studies. A grant may also be awarded if attendance at a conference is justified. Travel grants are only allocated during the periods given above.
Information about university scholarships, travel allowances and research grants is published regularly in the Lund University bulletin (LUM) and on the Faculty of Medicine's web site. In addition, a scholarship catalogue is published annually. This catalogue is available for purchase at the University Scholarship Portal (Stipendieportalen) and at the university bookshop, Akademibokhandeln. Information and application forms can be obtained from the Scholarship Portal.
