Postgraduate courses are intended, in the first place, for those who have been admitted to postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine, Lund University. If places are available, students from other faculties or institutes of higher education, or researchers, or students not yet admitted to postgraduate studies may also be admitted.
Courses are normally concluded with some kind of examination. In some cases, continuous assessment is also employed. The lecturer responsible for the course is also responsible for the examination and assessment of the course. Information on completion of the course and grades is entered into the student records database, LADOK. Certificates are issued for some courses.
For PhD- students admitted from June 1:st 2008 a basic package of courses are compulsory, in total 17,5 hp. In adition of the compulsory courses you have to complete another postgradutate course equivalent to 1.5 hp and complete a portfolio of 9 hp.
These compulsory courses must be completed before the halfway review or prior to a licentiate examination. It is thus important that students apply to these courses as soon as possible after being admitted to postgraduate studies, preferably during the first term.
Postgraduate courses at other faculties of medicine
All faculties of medicine within Sweden arrange postgraduate courses to which postgraduate students at Lund University may apply.
