Residence Permits

Applications for residence permits are processed by the Swedish Migration Board, not the university. The application is your responsibility and you need a letter of acceptance from the University to complete it.

As a Master's student at the programme from outside of the European Union and EU/EEA, you require a residence permit. Permisson to stay within Sweden is limited to the period of your studies.

You do not need a residence permit if you come from an EU/EEA country. However, because you will be studying for more than three months you must register with the Swedish migration board no later than three months after you arrive.
