Planning and Leadership in Public Health

This course will be given during Autumn 2012

The course will give the students a general knowledge of planning and leadership within the area of public health. Specifically, the course will impart in-depth knowledge and understanding of capacity development, management and change/change management within the field.

Capacity development will be treated on the system, organisational and individual levels as regards input factors, goals and possible interventions. Issues that transcend the levels, such as equality and fighting corruption, will also be dealt with in depth during the course.

Change and change management will be dealt with in depth, including change readiness, change strategy and implementation. Within this area, the course is particularly focussed on the phases of the project cycle and project methodology.

The theoretical parts of the course will be supplemented by various exercises and practical tasks, such as analyses, project work and self-assessment of leadership and cooperation skills.
