The section of MIG (microbiology, immunology and glycobiology) was formed in May 1998 and is one of nine sections forming the Institute of Laboratory Medicine (ILM). The section conducts research within the areas of microbiology, immunology and glycobiology. Aside from the productive research, MIG also plays a major role in the education of medical and biomedical students. The MIG section has a close ties with the Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine Laboratories in the Lund University Hospital organization.
