2010-06-15

Professor Tadeusz Wieloch has been awarded a 500.000 SEK grant from the Swedish Brain Fund

Out of a total of 220 grants, the Swedish Brain Fund selected 23 projects to be awarded 500.000 SEK. Professor Tadeusz Wieloch received a grant to study Recovery of Brain Function on the cellular level after experimental stroke.

- We are indeed happy to receive this grant, which permits us to establish a new technology in the Laboratory to study brain function after stroke. This so called optogenic technology was developed at Professor Karl Deisseroth Institute at Stanford University. Thanks to an agreement established between the Medical faculty in Lund and Stanford University, which is sponsored by the Crafoord Foundation, we have an ongoing collaboration that now can be further developed thanks to the grant from the Swedish Brain Fund.
