Lund Cardio Pulmonary Registry (LCPR) was initiated in september 2011. LCPR composes a biobank of blood samples from patients undergoing invasive evaluation with right heart catheterization in the hemodynamic lab, at the Clinic for Heart Failure and Valvular disease at Skåne University hospital in Lund. Blood samples are taken from patients undergoing evaluation due to pulmonary hypertension or severe heart failure, prior to or after medical therapy for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) or heart failure, as well as after heart transplantation.
LCPR is a part of a research project where we aim to study “Metabolic and clinical determinants of heart- and lung vascular function". The aim is to find markers, proteins or genetic, that can identify; patients with heart failure and high pulmonary artery pressure; who has the greatest benefit of different medical treatments; new targets for treatment and optimal steering of individual treatment, as well as detect rejection following transplantation.
