Facilities
The Molecular Cardiology Lab is located at D12 in Biomedical Center, BMC. BMC is the biggest research center at Lund University, comprising half of the research at Faculty of Medicine.
BMC has enabled all preclinical and most of the clinical experimental research in Lund to become located in the same complex of buildings, all tightly interconnected with each other and with Lund University Hospital, as outlined in the map below.
Clinical Cardiology research is done at the Department of Cardiology, Heart & Lung division. Offices for doctors are at EA15, which also has a unit for research patient visits, blood sample handling and storing.
The Heart & Lung Division contains most clinical methods in the treatment of heart disease: coronary care unit, PCI/Cath-lab, CABG, valvular surgery, heart transplantation, cardiac assist devices, electrophysiology, pacemaker/ICD and echocardiography.
Conditions are excellent for interaction between basic laboratory research and clinic.
