Research

Our department carries out research that covers all age groups – from the tiniest newborn babies to the oldest among the elderly. Health sciences research is all about improving people’s health and quality of life and takes as its starting point the very activity that is to be investigated. The research is essential not only from the point of view of the individual but also from a social perspective, since good research within this field can be expected to lead to better healthcare.

The research is also the basis for the development of care and rehabilitation for people with chronic illness and covers six main areas:

  1. Emergency care
  2. Clinical Health Promotion
  3. Child and family healthcare
  4. Physical health and rehabilitation
  5. Mental health
  6. Ageing and care of the elderly
