What do I need to do to apply to undergraduate programmes at the Faculty of Medicine?
The undergraduate medical programme at Lund University is not offered in any other language than Swedish. Consequently, you cannot be admitted to the programme unless you have studied Swedish and passed a language test. Special language courses are offered by different language schools outside the university. Tuition fees vary between the schools. A knowledge of English equivalent to the score of 500 on the TOEFL test (5,5 in the IELTS test and no part of the test under 4,5) is also required. For the undergraduate programmes there are special requirements in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. Find more information at studera.nu:

Some undergraduate medical programmes begin twice a year. The application deadline is April 15 for the Autumn semester and October 15 for the spring semester. You have to apply online or send an application form to the following address: Antagning, S-833 32 Strömsund, SWEDEN. Application forms are available through http://www.studera.nu. Questions about application and requirements can be answered by the Contact Center, VHS (National Admission Office for higher Education) +46 8 545 515 45

Accommodation

How does the accommodation system at Lund University work?
Lund does not have a campus accommodation system as in other countries. National students as well as international independent students (i.e. students coming from outside one of our agreements) are obliged to find housing on their own. Exchange students as well as international master students have the possibility to apply for accommodation via the International Housing Office (IHO). The IHO provides housing for international students to some extent but please note that there is a very limited number of student rooms available. It is strongly recommended for all students to look for housing at independent accommodation agencies while not receiving a confirmation from IHO.

For independent students we recommend that you visit the following web pages for more information and links on how to find housing:

What is the accommodation situation like in Lund/Malmö?
There is a limited number of student accommodation available in Lund/Malmö. We have many national as well as international students searching for accommodation in this region. If you haven’t received a confirmation from the International Housing Office (IHO) that you have a room, it is strongly recommended that you contact other accommodation agencies as well.

N.B. Do not pay in advance!

Work

I already have a degree in medicine and I want to get permission to work in Sweden. What should I do?
