at Lund University is given by the Medical Faculty together with the Science Faculty. The aim is to create professionals with future leading position in biomedical research and development. The education has a clear focus on human biology and basic science and how this knowledge can be transferred into a medical and clinical setting. The courses are instructed by researchers in the field of the studies, and are combined with lectures, problem based teaching, laboratory practice and research projects. The studies are given at a high tempo, the intensity of the research process is focused, and the literature is internationally renowned text books and current scientific papers relevant to the studies. The future profession is focused throughout the education through integrated training in professional aptitude and development.
The Medical Faculty at Lund University is responsible for the educational programs in Biomedicine. The education is harmonized according to the Bologna process and is divided into two parts: First cycle courses (Basic level) and Second Cycle courses (Advanced level). The courses on the basic level are part the Bachelor program in Biomedicine, and the Advanced courses are part of the Master programs. From the third year on the Bachelor program all courses are given in English and thus open for incoming students. The Master program in Biomedicine is entirely given in English and applications to the program are encouraged. We are happy to welcome students from our partner universities to join us for a shorter or longer time.

The Programme enroll 40 new students per year. The academic year starts in late August or early September. The 2 first years of studies are given in Swedish only, and students must therefore be proficient in Swedish. It is possible for non-Swedish-speaking students to be enrolled at later stages of the education. It is also possible for exchange students to apply for individual courses given during year 3.
The Master programme enroll 24 new students per year. The academic year starts in late August or early September. To be enrolled in the program, students must apply no later than January 15. The program is given in English.
It is possible for exchange students to apply for individual courses given during year 3 on the Bachelor program and advanced level courses given at the Master program.
